What we support

The mission of the Lucie and AndrĂ© Chagnon Foundation is to prevent poverty through educational success. During its early years of operation, the Foundation contributed to several projects and initiatives that allowed it to clearly identify its orientations.

Today, using its experience and lessons learned, it focuses on providing long-term support for organizations and associations that are actively developing their capacity for sustainable initiatives aimed at promoting the educational success of all children.

Poverty is a complex social issue that cannot be approached from a single angle. In the coming years, the Foundation plans to increase its support in the following areas:

The Foundation is already working with different community configurations across Quebec based on their demographic profile and diversity. A community can be many things: an MRC (regional county municipality), a regional partnership, a city or a neighbourhood.

The Foundation also offers its support to actors in different sectors (early childhood, communities, social development, philanthropy, municipal, economic, schools, etc.) who are innovating, disseminating practices, sharing knowledge and taking part in the dialogue on public policy.

The Foundation provides support for organizations and projects that offer resources (such as data, knowledge, tools or events) to actors in communities and networks in order to strengthen their capacity for action. It also supports resources that focus on ensuring that the general public and decision-makers are better informed.
