2012 Quebec Survey of Child Development in Kindergarten: publication of initial results
The report on the 2012 Quebec Survey of Child Development in Kindergarten - QSCDK (Enquête québécoise sur le développement des enfants à la maternelle 2012 - EQDEM) published on September 18, 2013, by the Institut de la statistique du Québec, shows that 26% of Quebec children in kindergarten are considered to be vulnerable in at least one domain of development. This situation occurs proportionally more often in boys (33%) than in girls (19%). Older children are less likely to be considered vulnerable in at least one domain than their younger classmates. These differences based on sex and age are also observed in each of the separate domains.
