Publication of a study on the geography of poverty in families with minor children in Quebec

The Centre Urbanisation Culture Société  of the Institut national de la recherche scientifique (INRS) has recently published a study that paints a geographical portrait of family poverty and its risk factors across Quebec and within each of its 91 local services networks (CSSS territories). Under the scientific direction of Anne-Marie Séguin and Philippe Apparicio, this study reveals that of the 885,019 families with at least one child in the province of Quebec, 16.45% (or 145,584 families) are in the low-income category.
