Early intervention to prevent youth violence
On September 17, nearly 200 people attended an important conference on preventing violence among children, held at the Sainte-Justine University Hospital Centre. Young children who frequently resort to physical violence are more prone to become violent teenagers and adults. Current preventive actions are taken too late and can even aggravate the problem. The conference was organized by the Centre of Excellence for Early Childhood Development (CEECD), with the participation of the Early Childhood Learning Knowledge Centre (ECLKC), the Sainte-Justine UHC Research Centre, and the Lucie and André Chagnon Foundation.
