The Lucie and André Chagnon Foundation announces the appointments of Claude Chagnon to the position of Vice-Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer and Jean-Marc Chouinard to the position of President

Montreal, September 21, 2016 - André Chagnon, Chairman of the Board of the Lucie and André Chagnon Foundation, is proud to announce the following appointments:

  • Claude Chagnon as Vice-Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer
  • Jean-Marc Chouinard as President

Today, Claude Chagnon becomes Vice-Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer of the Foundation after having served as its President since 2009. His new functions will allow him to continue his active involvement in the activities of the Foundation, an organization established by the Chagnon family with the mission of preventing poverty by contributing to the educational success of young Quebecers.

Jean-Marc Chouinard has been associated with the Foundation since it launched its activities in 2001, playing a key role in its evolution. He has also forged relationships and partnerships with many local and regional leaders in Quebec, government officials and key actors in the private sector. As a respected member of the community of Canadian foundations, Mr. Chouinard's international reputation will continue to facilitate access to the best new ideas to help further the Foundation's goals and provide opportunities to share what the Foundation has learned. The expertise and experience he has acquired over the years make Jean-Marc Chouinard the obvious choice to ensure the definition and deployment of the Foundation's future orientations.

Mr. Chagnon's and Mr. Chouinard's appointments are effective immediately.
